Explanation:

First find the equivalent resistence between B and C

1/Re=1/5+1/10

Re=10*5/10+5

Re=10/3ohm

Total current flowing through circuit=V/R

=12V*3/10=18/5amp

current flowing in i2=Total current*(resistance through which current i2 passes /sum of both resistence ofresistors)

=18/5amp*(5ohm/15ohm)

=6/5amp

=1.2amp
