Figure given in question is incomplete . The value of emf is 6 V .

Given :

emf of the circuit = 6 V

two serial resistors of 4 ohm and 2 ohm connected in parallel to another two serial resistors of 3 ohm and 3 ohm .

To find :

(a). Total resistance of the circuit .

(b). Current through ammeter A  .

(c). Potential difference ( voltage ) across 3 ohm and 4 ohm resistors .

Solution :

(a) . Net resistance = ( 4 + 2 ) || ( 3 + 3 ) ohm

                                = 6 || 6 ohm

                                = 3 ohm

(b). Current = 6 V / 3 ohm

                   = 2 A

(c).  1 A current will be flow in both parallel parts .

potential difference across 3 ohm = [ 3 / ( 3 + 3 ) ] * 1

                                                         = 0.5 V

potential difference across 4 ohm = [ 4 / ( 4 + 2 ) ] * 1

                                                         = 0.67 V

Total resistance of the network of resistors = 3 ohm

Current through ammeter A  = 2 Ampere

Potential difference across 3 ohm and 4 ohm resistors are 0.5 V and 0.67 V respectively .
