In the given circuit the voltmeter and the electric cell are ideal. Find the reading of the voltmeter in volts.​

Answer: As you know that the voltmeter is connected in parallel combination between the points which we have to measure the potential so in this case the voltmeter will measure potential between points A & B .

Now, Current = Voltage/Resistance.

Net resistance = 2ohm

I = 2/2 = 1 A.

Potential drop across the AB is

V = IR = 1 * 1 = 1V

So, reading of voltmeter is 1V.
