The value of median of the 12 numbers will increase by 9 .

There are total of 12 numbers which are arranged in increasing order .

So, the median of the 12 numbers is equal to the mean of the 6th and the 7th number when in increasing order .

Let the 6th no. be x and the 7th no. be y .

Median = (x+y)/2

When all the numbers are increased by 9 -

The 6th no. = x+9

The 7th no. = y+9

New Median =((x+9)+(y+9))/2

=> 9 + (x+y)/2

Thus the median increases by a value of 9 .
