Hi ,
shaded area = area of circle - area of square
area of square
= side * side
= 6*6
= 36 sq cm
area of circle
in triangle ABC : AB^2 + BC^2 = AC^2
6^2 + 6^2 = AC^2
AC = √72
AC = 6√2 = diameter of circle
radius = r = d/2 = 6√2 / 2 = 3√2 cm
so
area = π*r^2
= π*(3√2)^2
= π(9*2)
= 18π sq cm
so area of shaded region = 18π - 36 = 20.571 sq cm (taking π=22/7)
Hope it helped.
Let me know if any doubts.
Cheers !!!
