Given :

angle CAE = (3x-5)°

angle EAD = 55°

angle DAB = ( x+20)°

To find :

value of 'x' = ?

measure of angle CAE =?

measure of angle BAD =?

Solution :

(3x-5)°+55°+(x+20)° = 180° ..... [ Straight angle]

[(3x-5)+(x+20)]+55 = 180

(3x-5+x+20) + 55 = 180

(3x+x -5+20) + 55 = 180

4x + 15+55 = 180

4x + 70 = 180

4x = 180-70

4x = 110

x =110/4

x = 27.5

angle CAE = (3x-5)°

= [(3×27.5)-5]°

=( 82.5-5)°

= 77°5'

angle DAB = (x+20)°

= (27.5+20)°

= 47°5'

Verification:

77.5+47.5+55 = 180

L.H.S = 77.5 + 47.5 +55

=180

R.H.S = 180

therefore verified
