Given :-

  • Angle EAB = 40°

  • Angle ECD = 110°

  • Angle AEC = x °

  • AB|| CD .

To Find :-

  • Value of x.  

Solution :-

[Construction ]

→ Extend EC to intersect the line AB at P point.  

Now we have a Triangle EAP.

→ Angle EPB = Angle ECD [ Corresponding angles between two parallel lines ie AB and CD .]

→ Angle EPB = 110°

Angle EPB is the exterior angle of triangle EAP .

By exterior angle sum property

→ Angle EAP + Angle AEP = Angle EPB

→ 40° + x° = 110°

→ x = 110 - 40

→ X = 70°

So the value of x is 70 degree.
