Hey !

We know that a and b are in linear pair. Hence their sum would be 180°. Also another condition is that, a - 2b = 30°. So we can solve this by linear equations in two variables.

a + b = 180°

=> a = 180° - b => Equation 1

a - 2b = 30° => Equation 2

Substituting the value of a from Equation 1 in Equation 2, we get

=> 180 - b - 2b = 30

=> - 3b = 30 - 180

=> - 3b = - 150

=> b = - 150 / - 3

=> b = 50°

=> a = 180 - 50°

=> a = 70°

Hence a = 70° and b = 50°

Hope my answer helped !
