as AB,AC are tangents to one circle
they are equal ( th.tangents from an external point to a circle are equal)
AB=AC=7-------------------1

AC and AD are tangents to another circle.
they are equal too(th.tangents from an external point to a circle are equal)
AC=AD----------------------2
from 1 AND 2,
AB=AC=AD=7
thus length of AD=7

hope it helps!!!!

SakshiDeshmukh: According to the figure, C doesnt lie on the circle with centre O, so how come AB=AC?
swathika23: AB and AC are tangents. it is a theorem that tangents from an external point to a circle will be equal.so as ac and ab are tangents to the circle they are equal
swathika23: if u have any doubts please ask
SakshiDeshmukh: i know that. just see the fig carefully, AB n AC are not tangents to the same circle.
swathika23: yes AB = AC --1
swathika23: they are the tangents to the circle with centre O
SakshiDeshmukh: ok fine
sunny134: plz chat in private
swathika23: thx for marking mine as brainliest
