in the given figure AB =AD and CB = CD. Prove that triangle ABC is congruent to triangle ADC. Write reasons for the given statement​

Given :-

AB =AD

CB = CD

To prove :-

ΔABC ≅ ΔADC

Proof :-

Points which help to prove are:

1. AB =AD              

  (Given)

2. CB = CD            

  (Given)

3. Side AC is common in both the triangles i.e. ΔABC and ΔADC.

So, as from above given points we can say that

ΔABC ≅ ΔADC

(By SSS Axiom)

Hence, Proved.

  • Note :- SSS Axiom means Side, Side, Side Axiom.
  • ≅ sign means that two triangles are congruent.
