Answer:

Showed.

ar (BDE) = ar (ACED)

Step-by-step explanation:

The Complete Question :

In the given figure, AB  ║ DC. Show that ar(BDE) = ar (ACED)

{ Refer to the Attachment for the Figure. }

Solution :

Given :

In the given figure :

  • AB || DC

To Show :

ar (BDE) = ar (ACED)

Proof :

⇒ ar(ΔADC) = ar(ΔBDC)

∵ ΔADC and ΔBDC are on the same base DC and between the same parallels AB and DC

⇒ ar(ΔADC) + ar(ΔDCE)

Same here,

⇒ ar(ΔBDC) + ar(ΔDCE)

Now,

Addition of ar(ΔDCE) to both sides,

⇒ ar(ACED) = ar(BDE)

⇒ ar(BDE) = ar(ACED)

Hence,

The ar(BDE) = ar(ACED)

Proved.
