In the given figure ∆ABC~∆PQR,then the value of x and y are? where ab=24,bc=6,ac=30and pq=16,qr=y,pr=x​

As, two triangles are similar;

Therefore, By C.P.S.T:

The ratio of the corresponding sides are equal, i.e.,

 \frac{ab}{pr}  =  \frac{ac}{pr}  =  \frac{bc}{qr}

 \frac{24}{16}  =  \frac{30}{x}  =  \frac{6}{y}

On comparing one by one with LHS:

 \frac{24}{16}  =  \frac{30}{x}

x =  \frac{30 \times 16}{24}

∴ x=20 units

||ly,

 \frac{24}{16}  =  \frac{6}{y}

y =  \frac{6 \times 16}{24}

∴ y=4 units
