In ΔAOD and Δ EOB

AD||BC

AND, AD||BE

SO, ADO = OBE (alternate interior angles)

Similarly DAO = OEB

Hence.ΔAOD IS SIMILAR TO ΔEOB ( by AA similarity)

OD/OB = AD/BE

taking reciprocal

OB/OD = BE/AD (BC=AD)

1/2 = 1.5/BC

BC=3cm

ob/od=be/ad, 1/2=1.5/ad, ad=3, as AD = BC and SO BE=BC-BE=3-1.5=1.5.

In fact, AE denotes the line segment and named by ratio consider 1:2 and ration will be calculated based on the diagram initiated in the parallelogram.

It divides the line segment by means of 1:2.

In the given diagram, it is used to operate on straight line and meeting BC at P.
