In the given figure, ABCD is a rectangle with length = 45 m and breadth =
24 m. In ∆ADE, EF ⊥ AD and EF = 21m. Calculate the area of the shaded
region.

828m²

STEP BY STEP EXPLANATION:

in this figure

CD=AB=45

CB=AD=24

and EF=21

now area of the shaded region= area of rectangle - area of the triangle

area of rectangle = L x B

AB x AD

45 x 24

1080m²

area of triangle. = 1/2 x B x H

1/2 x AD x FE

1/2 x 24 x 21

252m²

area of shaded region = 1080-252 = 828m²
