In the given figure, ABCD is a square
of side 7 cm. BEDA and BFDC are
quadrants of circles, each of radius
7 cm. Find the area of the shaded region (use pie = 22/7)​

Area of BEDA = Area of BFDC

 =  \frac{1}{4} \pi {r}^{2}  \\  =  \frac{1}{4}  \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times  {7}^{2}  \\  =  \frac{22 \times 7}{4}  = 38.5 \:  {cm}^{2}

Therefore,

Area of shaded region = BEDA + BFDC - ABCD = 38.5 + 38.5 - 49 = 28 cm²
