As per question we can write

x-3y =7........○1

&x-y=5........○2

then multiply 3 to equation 2

3(x-y=5)

3x-3y=15.........○3

then subtract equation○3 to equation○1

(3x-3y =15)-(x-3y=7)

then u got 2x=8 then x=4

.

then come to equation no 1

x-3y=7

4-3y=7(by putting x=4)

-3y=7-4

-3y=3

-y=3/-3

-y=-1
