Solution:
We will have to prove triangle DAE and triangle BAC as a congruent triangle
In triangle DAE and triangle BAC
- A angle is common in both the triangles
- Since DE is parallel to BC, angle ADE is corresponding to angle ABC
So the two triangles are congruent by angle-angle property and so the sides are proportional,
Therefore, DA/BA=AE/AC
11/18=9/AC
AC=14
Therefore EC= 14-9= 5
The length of EC is 5cm
