In the given figure all surface are smooth. Find acceleration of rod.

Explanation:

As we know that all the surface s are smooth          

Here the angle is given which is θ = 45°.

Now solve for theta along the horizontal direction.

Nsinθ =ma1

Nsin45° = ma1 .......(1)

For rod -N = mgcos 45°          (mg is acting downward)

(mgcos 45° )(sin45°) = ma1

    (g)(1/2)    = a1  

(Since g = 10 m/s2)

(10/2)   = a1

a1 = 5 m/s2

Along the normal side there is no accelertaion.

a2cos45°  = a1cos45°

a2 = a1 = 5 m/s2
