In the given figure, BC=15 m, EC=18 m and AB=26 m. Find the length of AE. ​

(AE)^2 = (AD)^2 + (ED)^2

(AE)^2=(8)^2+(15)^2

(AE)^2=64+225

(AE)^2=289

AE=√289

AE=17metre

Here, BC = 15m, EC = 18m and AB = 26m

BC = ED

= 15m

AD = AB - EC

= 26m - 18m

= 8m

By using Pythagorean theorem,

AD²+ ED² = AE²

⇒ 8² + 15² = AE²

⇒ 64 + 225 = AE²

⇒ 289 = AE²

⇒ √289 = AE

⇒ 17 = AE
