Construction - Extend TE to intersect CK at N . Extend BU to intersect CK at M. Here, O is intersecting point .

According to diagram in picture -

Here, CU║TE

So, ∠BUC = ∠UON  =  110°   (AS, corresponding angles are equal)

Also,  ∠UON + ∠NOM = 180°  (Linear pair)

=>    110° + ∠NOM = 180°

=>  ∠NOM =  70°

Also,  BU is parallel to EK

=>  ∠NOM = ∠OEK = 70°       (AS, corresponding angles are equal)

Also,  ∠OEK + ∠x =  180°         (Linear pair)

=>  ∠x  =  180° - 70°

=>  ∠x  =  110°

=> ∠y  +  ∠UON  =  180°

=>  ∠y = 180° - 110°

          =    70°
