The answer is 2 : 5 : 10

GIVEN

Mass of 2kg, 3 kg and 5kg

TO FIND

The ratio of T₁ : T₂ : T₃

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Since bodies are not moving in any direction.

Tension in the string = Weight of body suspended.

From free body diagram of T₁ -

T₁ = 2× 10 = 20 N (g = acceleration due to gravity)

From free body diagram of 3 kg block -

T₂ = T₁ + 3(10) = 50 N

From free body diagram of 5 kg block

T₃ = T₂ + 5(10) = 100 N

Therefore,

T₁ : T₂ : T₃ = 20 : 50 : 100

= 2 : 5 : 10

Hence, The answer is 2 : 5 : 10
