IN THE GIVEN FIGURE, FIND THE AREA OF THE SHADED REGION?

Area of shaded region =area of square - area of rectangle

=x^2-lb

=24^2-16*5

496sq cm

In the figure, we can see that there are two right angles and adjacent sides are 24 cm each.
Therefore, it is a square.

Area = ( 24 × 24 ) cm²

=> 576 cm²

Inside the square, there is another small figure. As we can see, there are two right angles and adjacent sides are 16 cm and 5 cm.
Therefore, it is a rectangle.

Area = ( 16 × 5 ) cm²

=> 80 cm²

Area of shaded region

=> 576 - 80

=> 496 cm² ANS
