Two 3 Ohm resistance at the outer end are in series hence it becomes 6 Ohm

Now 6 Ohm resistance is in parallel with inner 3 Ohm resistance

so equivalent resistance becomes

 \frac{6 \times 3}{6 + 3}  =  \frac{18}{9}  = 2 \: ohm
