In Triangle ADC

AD² + DC² = AC²

AD² + 15² = 17²

AD² = 289 - 225

AD² = 64

AD = 64

AD = 8m

In Triangle ADB

AD² + BD² = AB²

8² + BD² = 10²

BD² = 100 - 64

BD² = 36

BD = 36

BD = 6m

by using pythagoras theorem,

(AC)² = (DC)² + (AD)²

17² = 15² +(AD)²

289 = 225 +(AD)²

(AD)²= 289 -225

(AD)²= 64

AD =√64

AD = 8

By using geometric mean theorem,

(AD)² = BD×DC

8² = BD×15

64 = BD×15

64\15 = BD
