a.

y is an exterior angle which is the sum of x and 90(being opposite interior angles)

x=90÷2= 45(isosceles triangles so base angles are same)

thus y is 90+45=135

b. y=180-60=120

(opposite angles of a quadrilateral are supplementary)

x=360-y

=360-120= 240
