From image we have :-

  • l || m
  • p || q
  • Transversal line n make angle of 50° at Point O on line l make angle 70° at point S on line p.

Solution :-

we have given that, l || m and n is a transversal line.

So,

Angle at O = 50°

→ interior Angle at S by transversal line n = 50° . { Corresponding Angles .}

Than,

Exterior angle at S = 180° - 50° = 130°. { Straight Line } .

Therefore,

Angle at point S on Line p , by transversal line m = 130° - 70° = 60° .

Hence,

∠x = 60° . { Vertical Opposite Angles } .

Now, since line p || q .

So,

∠x + ∠y = 180° .

→ 60° + ∠y = 180°

→ ∠y = 180° - 60°

→ ∠y = 120° .

→ ∠y - ∠x = 120° - 60° = 60° (Ans.)
