in the given figure, if x - 2y, find x and y.

Answer:

x° + y° = 180° (Straight angle)

But x = 2y (given)

∴ 2y + y = 180°

⇒ 3y = 180°

⇒ y = 180°/3 = 60°

Hence y = 60°

and x = 2y = 2 × 60° = 120°
