Given :  line  x+y-3=0  meets x-axis at A and y-axis at B.

PA : PB = 2 : 3

To Find : Coordinates of P

Solution:

x+y-3=0  meets x-axis at A and y-axis at B.

at x axis y = 0

=> x + 0 - 3 = 0 => x = 3

A = ( 3 , 0)

at y  axis x = 0

=> 0 + y - 3 = 0 => y = 3

B = ( 0 , 3)

A = (3 , 0) ,   B = ( 0 ,3 )

PA : PB  = 2  :  3

=> P  =   ( 2 * 0  + 3 * 3)/(2 + 3)  ,  ( 2 * 3  + 3 * 0)/(2 + 3)

           = 9/5 , 6/5

Coordinates of P  are ( 9/5 , 6/5)

Answer:

 = 9/5 , 6/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :  line  x+y-3=0  meets x-axis at A and y-axis at B.

PA : PB = 2 : 3

To Find : Coordinates of P

Solution:

x+y-3=0  meets x-axis at A and y-axis at B.

at x axis y = 0

=> x + 0 - 3 = 0 => x = 3

A = ( 3 , 0)

at y  axis x = 0

=> 0 + y - 3 = 0 => y = 3

B = ( 0 , 3)

A = (3 , 0) ,   B = ( 0 ,3 )

PA : PB  = 2  :  3

=> P  =   ( 2 * 0  + 3 * 3)/(2 + 3)  ,  ( 2 * 3  + 3 * 0)/(2 + 3)

          = 9/5 , 6/5
