Answer:

If AB=6cm,

AL=2cm

and AC=9cm,

so, BL = AB - AL

BL = 4cm

use BPT in the given triangle

we get

AB/BL = AC/CM

put the values

we get

6/4 = 9/CM

from here

we get

CM = 6cm

as ALM is similar to ABC

from here

we get

area of ALM/area of ABC = AL²/AB²

area of ∆ALM/area of ∆ABC = 2²/6² = 4/36

area of ∆ALM/area of ∆ABC =4/36

we know area of ∆ABC

= area of ∆ALM + area of trap.LBCM

36cm² = 4cm² + area of trap.LBCM

area of trap.LBCM = 32cm²

the value of ar (triangle ALM)/ar (trap.LBCM)

= 4/32 = 1/8

i.e. = 1:8
