Prove that \frac{AM}{AB}=\frac{AN}{AD}

In ∆ABC,

LM || BC

By proportionality theorem ,

 \frac{am}{ab}  =  \frac{a l}{ac}

....... (1)

similarly ,

In ∆ADC,

LN || CD

By proportionality theorem,

 \frac{an}{ad}  =  \frac{al}{ac}

........ (2)

From (1) and (2) ,

 \frac{am}{ad}  =  \frac{an}{ad}

ad/an = ac/al

From (1) and (2)

ad/am = ad/an
