it is given that PD is parallel to BC,

by known theorem, (if a line is drawn parallel to...........) we get..

AP/PB=AD/DC. ....1

from given,

AD/DC=CE/BE. .....2

from 1 and 2,

AP/PB=CE/BE

by converse part of the above theorem,

PE is parallel to AC.
