in the given figure ,PR is a straight line and the ray OQ stands on it.find the value of x.also, find angle POQ and angle QOR​

Given that, angle POQ = 2x - 30 and angle QOR = 3x + 40

From the figure it is clear that they both form linear pair.

So they add up to 180°.

ie, 2x - 30 + 3x + 40 = 180

ie, 5x + 10 = 180

ie, 5x = 180 - 10

         = 170

ie, x = 170/5

       = 34

∴ x = 34

Now angle POQ = 2x - 30 = 2 × 34 - 30 = 68 - 30  = 38°

∴Angle POQ = 38°

Now angle QOR = 3x + 40 = 3×34 + 40 = 102 + 40 = 142°

∴Angle QOR = 142°
