Answer:

50°

Step-by-step explanation:

<Q = 40°

<S = 90°

<Q + <S + <QPS = 180° (Angel sum property of ∆)

=> 40° + 90° + <QPS = 180°

=> 130° + <QPS = 180°

=> <QPS = 180° - 130°

=> <QPS = 50°

Hope it helps you.

Thanks

Given :-

  • QP = PR
  • ∠PQR = 40°
  • PS is median .

To Find :-

  • ∠QPS = ?

Concept used :-

  • Median of an isosceles ∆ bisect the base side at 90° or perpendicularly.
  • sum of All three angles of a ∆ is 180° .

Solution :-

in PQS,

∠PQR = 40° (Given.)

→ ∠PSQ = 90° (By above told concept.)

So,

∠PQR + ∠PSQ + ∠QPS = 180° (By angle sum Property.)

→ 40° + 90° + ∠QPS = 180°

→ 130° + ∠QPS = 180°

→ ∠QPS = 180° - 130°

→ ∠QPS = 50° (Ans.)
