In the given figure side BC of A ABC is bisected at D and O is any point on A
ed at D and O is any point on AD. BO and CO
at E and F respectively and AD produced to x so that D is the midpoint
FOX. prove that AO:AX=AF:AB and show that EF//BC.

in triangle ABX

af /fb =ao/bx { by bpt } .....(1)

similarly in triangle  ACX

ad/ox=ae/ec { by bpt }.......(2)

from(1) and (2) we get

ae/fb =ae/ec

so by bpt  converse

ef||bc

from adding (1) on both sides we get

ax/oa = fb /af

hence proved
