In the given figure, the side of square is 28cm and radius I'd each circle is half of the length of the side of the square, where O and O' are centres of the circle. Find the area of shaded area.

According to the figure

Area of shaded region = area of 2circles + area of a square - area of a semicircle

side=28cm

radius=14

so ,

area of a circle = \pi r\x^{2} \\

= \frac{22}{7}×14×14

=616cm²

∴area of two circles = 2×616

                                 = 1232 cm²

area of a square = s²

                           = 28×28

                           = 784cm²

area of a semicircle = \frac{\pi\\r^{2}  }{2}

                                 =308 cm²

substitute the values in the above equation

area of shaded region = area of 2circles + area of a square - area of a semicircle

Area of shaded region = 1232 + 784 - 308

                                      =1708 cm²  

∴   area of shaded region of the given figure is 1708 cm² .
