Question :- In the given figure, the value of x which makes POQ a straight line is:

A) 40°

B) 25°

C) 35°

D) 30°

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Angles on one side of a straight line always add to 180° .

So, in order to make POQ a straight line , the sum of ∠QOR and ∠ROP is equal to 180° .

Therefore,

∠QOR + ∠ROP = 180°

→ 4x + (2x + 30°) = 180°

→ 6x + 30° = 180°

→ 6x = 180° - 30°

→ 6x = 150°

dividing both sides by 6,

x = 25° (Option B) (Ans.)

Hence, at x = 25° POQ will be a straight line.
