in the given figure ,two circles intersect
at p and a .O is the centre of the smaller circle which lies on the circumference of larger circle and RO is joined and produced to meet QS at X.Prove that RQ=RS.

Let us assume that RX is perpendicular to QS.

As we know that line drawn perpendicular to the chord through center bisects the chord in two equal parts.

So, when RX is perpendicular to QS

:- QX = SX

Now, In ΔRXQ and ΔRXS :-

RX = RX ( common)

QX = SX ( As RX is perpendicular to QS)

angle RXQ = angle RXS ( each 90 degree)

By RHS congruency rule :-

ΔRXQ is congruent to ΔRXS

=> RQ = RS ( by CPCT)

Hence proved.

As you have not given that RX is perpendicular to QS. I need to assume that.
