Let, the radius of the circle is r unit and the length of the side is a unit

∴ The area of the circle is = π × r² = \frac{22r^{2} }{7} sq. unit

∴ The diagonal of the square is = 2r unit

According to the formula,

             √2 × a = 2r

         => a = \frac{2}{\sqrt{2} } r = √2 r unit

∴ The length of the side is = r √2 unit.

∴ The area of the square is = (r √2)² = 2r² unit.

∴ The ratio of the area of the square to the  circle is =2r² : \frac{22r^{2} }{7} = 1 : \frac{11}{7} = 7 : 11
