Volume of given solid in diagram is (d) 3.0 ml.

•The given question is based on Archimedes principle.

•Archimedes principle states that “When a body is immersed completely or partially in a fluid, it experiences an upward force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body.”

•In the given question, amount of water displaced by solid will be equal to the volume of solid.

•Initial volume of water was at 5 ml.

•Final volume of water is at 8 ml.

•The difference in volume of water displaced is 3 ml which is equal to volume of solid.
