- For this experiment, leaf is first destarched so that no starch remains in the leaf.
- Now some part of leaf is covered with black paper and other is kept open to sunlight for few days.
- After few days, starch test is done on leaf to detect photosynthesis.
Q. What will happen to the leaf closed with black paper in starch test ?
- As sunlight is essential for photosynthesis, part of leaf covered by black paper will not synthesise starch.
- Therefore, it will show negative starch test.
