L(AC) = 2 m

● Explanation -

Potential gradient of the potentiometer is calculated as -

PG = E.R / (R+r)l

PG = 5×4.5 / (4.5+0.5)3

PG = 4.5 / 3

PG = 1.5 V/m

Now, for the galvanometer to show no deflection potential difference across above half need to be same as lower half.

PG × L = E1

1.5 × L = 3

L = 3 / 1.5

L = 2 m

Therefore, length of wire AC should be 2 m for no deflection in galvanometer.
