Answer:

diagonals od square are equal

therefore 32-a=a+8

32-8=a+a

24=2a

a=12

area = a²

=12×12

=144cm²

Length of diagonal BD  =  a + 8

To Find:

The area of the square

Explanation:

It is given that the diagonals of square are equal therefore

(32-a) = (a+8)

(32-8) = (a + a)

24 = 2a

Hence a = 12

Area for the square  = a²

We got the value of the side which is 12

Therefore (12)²

= (12×12)

= 144cm²

Hence area of triangle = 144cm²
