Non-state actors have been recognized as an important “third” sector, whose strength can bring in a positive influence to the market and to the state.
Non-state actors are important agents for promotion of good governance like responsiveness, transparency, accountability, openness, and effectiveness.
Although non-state bodies like CII and FICCI have played functional and important roles in the Make in India programs, still their role has been considered as marginal in the Indian government.
