SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

In the interval 0°< x < 360°, find the values of x for which sin x = 0.6691 . Answer to the nearest degree.

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

sin x = 0.6691

⇒ sin x = sin 41.997°

⇒ x = 41.997° ≈ 42°

Again

sin x = 0.6691

⇒ sin x = sin 41.997°

⇒ sin x = sin ( 180° - 41.997° )

⇒ sin x = sin 138.003°

⇒ x = 138.003° ≈ 138°

FINAL ANSWER

Hence the required value of x in the interval 0°< x < 360° is 42° , 138°
