In the laboratory preparation of hydrogen, is it possible to use lead and nitric acid(HNO³) without the reaction stopping due to the formation of insoluble lead salts?????​

nitric acid is strong oxidizing agent so it is not used in the preparation of hydrogen because between from the Sulphur Dioxide gas and water

Hey mate,

that's actually a nice question.

HNO3 is not preffered, because it does not usually react with metals to liberate hydrogen and it highly volatile as an acid.

but , on reaction with mg and mn in a very dilute form it does liberate hydrogen.
