No, I am not agreed with Gandhiji that the salt tax was unfair because he only fought against the right that he has not got ,on March 12, 1930, Gandhi set out from his ashram, or religious retreat, at Sabermanti near Ahmedabad with several dozen followers on a trek of some 240 miles to the coastal town of Dandi on the Arabian Sea. There, Gandhi and his supporters were to defy British policy by making salt from seawater.

Salt was an important thing for Indians which was needed by all ..British imposed an unfair salt tax over Indians..the law regarding salt was that all Indians were not allowed to make salt sand use by themselves , they had to buy salt from British government .. even the poor people who can't afford to buy salt has to give a Salt tax ..... this was really unfair ..so bapu decided to break the law by making salt ...and I agree that he was right in this decision
