Carbon dioxide is always carried in blood. From blood it is released in alveolar air during expiration.
Transport of oxygen and carbon dioxide follows gas laws.
Respiratory gases move from higher concentration to lower concentration. In alveolar air when carbon dioxide is less from blood carbon dioxide is released.
