Given  : a 112 meter long six   took 4 seconds for the ball to fall outside boundaries after hit

To Find : maximum height the ball has gained during the shot

Solution:

Let say ball hit with velocity v  m/s with angle α with horizontal

vcosα * 4   =  112

=> vcosα  = 28

Total tim e= 4 sec

Hence time to reach max height = 4/2 = 2 sec

vertical speed at top is 0.

Vertical speed  initially = vsinα

V = u + at

a = - g = - 10

=> 0  =   vsinα - 10 (2)

vsinα  =  20

S =  vsinα * t  + (1/2)at²

=> S = 20 * 2  + (1/2)(-10)2²

=> S = 40  - 20

=>  S = 20

maximum height the ball has gained during the shot  = 20 m
