metallic character increases from left to right and then again decreases. as metals r the element which can loose electron thus when we move across a period no of shells remain same but electron increases by 1 and than decreases by 1.

As we go left to right in a period tendency to donate electrons decreases due to which ionisation enthalpy increases.
So on the right side there are non metals which can only accept electrons and on the very left there are metals.

palaksinghania: dont u think capacity to loose electron first increases and then decreases
parveen35: No dear
parveen35: It only decreases as we go from left to right.
