In the mouthparts of cockroach the galea and lacinia form parts of the maxilla.

Explanation:

Each of the maxilla have two parts- proximal cardo and distal stripes. At the apex of the each stripe there are two lobes present –inner lacinia and outer galea. The galea is formed a cup like structure at the outer marginal part and it is located at the outer side of the labium. In the non-chewing insect the maxilla is developed for the other functions.
